Police said DNA samples have confirmed that the young woman who turned up after disappearing in 1998 when 10 years old is in fact Natascha Kampusch.

Kampusch, now 18, was found wandering on Wednesday in the town of Strasshof, 25 kilometres (15 miles) northeast of Vienna, and was identified by her family who had not seen her since she vanished on her way to school on March 2, 1998.
